Relaxed, local vibe — perfect for sitting down to work or read away from the downtown rush.

We write this guide from the inside: SĀNTAL has its Chacarita location at Loyola 1599, four blocks from the Movistar Arena, and we share the neighborhood every day with the best in the area. Let's go one by one, with addresses, so you can build your own route.

The best cafés in Chacarita, one by one

A good neighborhood guide gives its neighbors their due. These are the places that define Chacarita's coffee scene, with what each does best.

SĀNTAL · Loyola 1599

Loyola 1599 · Every day 7:30–20:30 · 4 blocks from the Movistar Arena

One of the first specialty coffee shops in Buenos Aires, today a classic with three locations. In Chacarita we add something almost no one else in the area has: brunch every day until 20:30 and, from the afternoon, a tapas bar with happy hour and a wine cellar. Ideal for the warm-up or the after of a show at the Movistar Arena. Single-origin coffee, in-house pastry (dulce de leche alfajor, cinnamon roll, banana bread) and private events for up to 30 people.

Panadería de Anchoíta

Aguirre 1562 · Wed–Sun 9–19

The bakery arm of the acclaimed Anchoíta restaurant (included in the Michelin Guide Argentina). Sourdough, European-level laminated pastries, specialty coffee, house-made pistachio ice cream and bean-to-bar chocolate. Small and much sought-after: best to go early.

Rojas

Loyola 1667 · half a block from SĀNTAL

Our direct neighbor on Loyola, one of the specialty coffee stops on the block. Neighborhood atmosphere and a good bar for a quiet flat white before moving on. If you're near the Movistar Arena, it's right on the way.

Cuervo

Guevara 393 (Chacarita) · also in Palermo and Belgrano

Roaster and café with several branches. In Chacarita it keeps its laid-back stamp; well-pulled coffee, filter brews and solid pastry. One of the recognized names of the local scene.

La Kitchen

Guevara 91 (Chacarita) · also in Palermo

Relaxed style with a rock edge and that cool touch. Strong on cold brew and filter coffee, with pastry that wins you over: carrot cake with plenty of frosting, cinnamon roll and the classic fosforito. A good pick for long afternoon sits.

Hobby Café

Chacarita · also in Palermo

Modern look and a warm atmosphere, made both for a quiet breakfast and for working on your laptop. Well-executed espressos, filter brews and artisanal pastry. A meeting point to get things done with good coffee at hand.
