There are cafés that open, and cafés that arrive. In just a few weeks, our specialty coffee corner in Chacarita earned a place in the neighbourhood's routine. And it's not us saying it: it's the dozens of five-star reviews left by the people who have already sat at our tables. We read them all and built this piece out of their own words.

A corner that feels like home

The first thing that comes up, review after review, is the feeling of home. White façade, tables on the sidewalk, a warm and bright atmosphere on one of the prettiest corners in Chacarita. For many locals, SĀNTAL is already the neighbourhood café.

That warmth is no accident: it shows up in every mention of the team. Camila, Francisco, Rocío, Ignacio and the whole staff earn constant praise for their close, attentive service. "Excellent service from Camila and Francisco; from the moment we walked in they made us feel as comfortable as if we were at home," says Mariana. Carolina Benedetto sums it up from the perspective of someone who lives around the corner: "I love that it's in my neighbourhood. I come for breakfast or an afternoon coffee… it's a lovely place, fast service and very friendly people." And Manuela Mirabella goes one step further: "I love this place, it takes me to the Mediterranean."

The specialty coffee the neighbourhood was waiting for

If there's one thing everyone agrees on, it's the cup. For many, SĀNTAL is already the best specialty coffee in the area. Samuel Gomez puts it plainly: "Great service and a very varied menu, the best coffee in the area." And Melissa Bargman adds the detail: "The coffee is a 10, the mocaccino is delicious and original. The pastries are spot on… A great new neighbourhood option with real quality."

Among the crowd favourites: the caramel flat with dulce de leche —"a winner," as one review puts it— and a house tea that also has its fans. Kurt Jadra wraps it up with the line that comes up most: "Excellent service, lovely coffee, I'd come back, and the corner is beautiful. 10/10."

Brunch, sweets and lunches worth lingering over

The brunch in Chacarita is another big reason to come. The avo toast with scrambled eggs and bacon earns applause ("delicious," "super fresh"), as do the scrambled eggs with toast and the oat pancakes. But the pastries may be the most mentioned of all: the chocotorta, the banana split loaf, the cinnamon roll, the key lime pie and the homemade cookies come up again and again.

At midday, the lunch offer also wins people over: the butternut squash soup, the risotto, the lentil stew and the wraps have earned their place among the regulars. Rocío Belen recommends them by name: "Sweet options and exquisite coffee. I recommend the daily menu; the squash soup and the risotto are very good. The team's service is a 10." And one detail that wins many hearts: SĀNTAL Chacarita is pet-friendly. "I went with my partner and our little dog… everything was amazing, and the best part is that it's pet-friendly," says Priscila.

From daytime coffee to evening tapas and wine

When the afternoon winds down, the corner shifts gears. The tapas and wine offer has turned SĀNTAL into an ideal meeting spot for friends. Its location, a few blocks from Movistar Arena, also made it the perfect warm-up before a show.

Carlos Ramirez said it best: "I found the perfect place to kick off the night before a show at Movistar Arena. The braised beef tacos and the empanadas with spicy dip are unreal… I stayed until it was time to walk over to the show." Specialty coffee by day, tapas and wine by night: the same corner, two plans.
